Supporting across a number of the Operational Teams, managing external contractors & equipment upgrades. Responsible for electrical /mechanical equipment maintenance , PLC Programming/Electromechanical Integration & Maintenance, troubleshooting, programming, and optimization of automated filling /capping machines. This role merges electrical, mechanical, and software skills to ensure maximum machine uptime and efficiency, typically working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and robotic systems.

Working closely with operations managers on VSM process to improve OEE performance, reduce down time and machine availability , implement plant wide total preventative maintenance planning (TPM) and execution , on time equipment integration for manufacturing line commissioning.  Reporting directly to the designated Production Manager and Group Operations Process & Engineering Director. You will also collaborate with other departments i.e. operations, Technical, QC, Regulatory compliance and Health & Safety etc.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Fault Finding & Troubleshooting: Diagnosing complex electrical, mechanical, and software issues in real-time to minimize production downtime. Trouble shooting root cause assessment of equipment / machine failure modes and repair overhaul. Upgrading filling & capping machines,  pumps, valves  sensors and controls etc.
  • PLC & HMI Programming: Programming, debugging, and modifying PLC (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron, Mitsubishi types) and HMI software to optimize performance.
  • Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Performing planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance on automated production equipment, including conveyor systems, robotics, and assembly lines.
  • System Integration: Integrating sensors, actuators, drives, and servo systems with PLCs to create seamless automation. Equipment selection and filling machine/ automation specification , modification and upgrading existing equipment /machines.
  • Technical Documentation: Maintaining, updating, and creating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and software documentation.
  • Support & Upgrades: Assisting with the installation, commissioning, and retrofitting of new or legacy machinery.
  • Basic welding / plasma cutting fabrication support for internally fabricating assembly line equipment, enclosure and furniture etc. for lean manufacturing.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Machine Uptime: Maximizing operational time by reducing breakdowns.
  • Mean Time to Repair (MTTR): Decreasing the time taken to fix equipment.
  • (TPM) Preventive Maintenance Completion: Adhering to schedules.
  • Review current method of manufacturing and improve productivity by automation and robotics.
