Mixing Operator
The mixing operative for the Barrettine Group is a hands-on role, which will involve working in a fast-paced dynamic business. The candidate will be supporting the blending business, which will be producing products to in-house QC standards and will require a level of flexibility around mixing times. This role will require the candidate to work too strict time frames to meet customer requirements and is a pivotal role in keeping the business flow going.
This role will require the candidate to work with different types of PPE and a variety of materials varying from Dyes, pigment slurries, acids/basic material and other industrial bulk materials. Once trained up in the role the candidate will be expected to work independently to complete mix’s.
Core responsibilities:
- Work independently to produce high quality blends in an industrial environment by following Safe operating procedures (SOP’S) to a standard that will meet our QC specifications.
- Sample materials that can be QC tested in the onsite laboratory.
- Work with a variety of bulk size’s varying from industrial bulk containers (IBC’s) all the way up to 10,000L bulk tank blends.
- Using heavy machinery to complete tasks in a safe and tidy manner.
Key skills, qualifications, competencies and experience:
- Counterbalance forklift license (required), pivot steer (optional)
- Safety compliance: knowledge of SOP’s, use of Personal, protective equipment (PPE) and engineering controls to ensure working in a safe manner
- Great time management
- Familiarity with heavy machinery and chemicals
- Independent working with the potential need to work in a team to complete jobs
- Flexible worker, other warehouse duties may be required throughout the year
- Communication skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
